MyCal AI ("MyCal AI", "we", "us", or "our") is developed and operated by Tharun Tech Solutions (https://tharuntechsolutions.in/), a software studio based in India. We operate the MyCal AI mobile application (the "App") and the mycalai.co website. This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
MyCal AI is currently in closed testing on Android. Features, data handling, and this policy may be updated as the app moves toward general release.
Information We Collect
We collect the following categories of information when you use the App:
- Account information: email address and authentication identifiers, via email/password or Google Sign-In.
- Food and nutrition data: photos you take of meals, plates, or restaurant menus for AI analysis; the resulting food identification, calorie, and macro data; and any meals you log manually.
- AI Coach conversations: messages you send to the in-app AI Nutrition Coach and the responses it gives, which are generated using your logged meal history.
- Health and fitness data: if you choose to connect Health Connect, data such as steps, weight, or activity that you explicitly authorize the App to read or write.
- Profile and goal data: information you provide such as your nutrition goals, dietary preferences, and health conditions you choose to disclose for more relevant AI recommendations.
- Subscription and purchase data: your subscription status and purchase history, processed through Google Play Billing and our subscription management provider (RevenueCat). We do not receive or store your payment card details.
- Device and diagnostic data: crash reports and performance data (via Firebase Crashlytics), an advertising identifier (if you interact with in-app ads via Google AdMob), and device integrity signals (via Google Play Integrity) used to detect abuse.
How We Use Your Information
- To identify food items and estimate nutrition from photos you submit, using Google's Gemini AI models.
- To maintain your food diary, macro trends, and progress insights.
- To power the AI Nutrition Coach's answers based on your own logged data.
- To manage your account, subscription, and free/Premium usage limits.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, or violations of our Terms of Service.
- To fix bugs and improve app stability and performance.
- To send you transactional or account-related email (e.g. email verification).
Third-Party Services
We share limited data with the following service providers, solely to operate the App:
- Google Gemini API — processes food/menu photos and coach conversations to generate nutrition analysis and responses.
- Supabase — hosts our backend database and authentication.
- Google Play Billing & RevenueCat — process subscription purchases and manage entitlement status.
- Firebase Crashlytics — collects crash and diagnostic reports.
- Firebase Cloud Messaging — delivers meal reminders and other notifications you have turned on, using a device notification token.
- Google AdMob — serves optional rewarded ads that unlock bonus scans.
- Health Connect — only if you explicitly grant permission, to read or write specific health data types on your device.
These providers are only permitted to use your data to provide services to us, not for their own independent purposes.
This website (mycalai.co) uses Cloudflare Web Analytics to count page views. It sets no cookies, does not use fingerprinting, and does not track you across other sites.
Data Retention and Deletion
We retain your account and meal data for as long as your account is active, so your food diary and history remain available to you. You can request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing support@mycalai.co. We will delete or anonymize your data within a reasonable time, except where retention is required by law.
Your Choices
- You can review, edit, or delete individual meal entries within the App.
- You can disconnect Health Connect at any time from your device's Health Connect settings.
- You can opt out of personalized ads through your device's ad settings.
- You can request a copy or deletion of your data by contacting us.
Children's Privacy
MyCal AI is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.
Security
We use industry-standard measures, including encryption in transit and row-level access controls on our database, to protect your information. No method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will update the "Effective" date above when changes are made. Continued use of the App after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
